According to Richard Waddicor, Sean was susceptible to injuries but not
necessarily Rugby related. His younger brother Adam was a bit of a
talent as a Junior.Their father Paul gave years of support and
effort to the Juniors.
Currently plays for Woollahra Colleagues in Sydney as loose-head prop.
The Woollahra Colleagues
The pin Sean had in his leg after a motorcycle accident in
1997.
In Sean's own words:
25th May 2003
" In1986 I played for the Waratahs (Burnside Juniors) but
wanted to play for OldColls. When I contacted OCs, Howard Clay (Junior
President that year from memory) at the end of 1986, he told me that there
wasn't a team for U16s but if I could put together a dozen players the
club would do the rest.
At the time I played rugby for St Peters College and scraped together
several of my school mates plus a few from PAC, Pembroke etc to make up
the team. Results were mixed that year with many of our games played
with only 11 or 12 players, but we still managed to get to the finals
series where we narrowly lost to my old team from Burnside.
That afternoon we were watched by the Wallabies' Team Manager
(whose name eludes me - all I remember is he died suddenly of a heart
attack two weeks later), who presented me with a trophy on behalf of the
club for "Best Team Member" (for contributions both on and off
the field) as well as presenting the trophies for best forward and best
back.
I also went on to play SA Schoolboys from 1987 through to 1990 as
well as playing for the Saints championship winning First XV of 1988 and
runners-up in 1989. I played for Old Colls from 1987 through to 1997 (when
I had a motorbike accident a week before the 4th grade won their Grand
Final)."
