HOUSES
The best house this year will win a free keg at the end of the year and the right to lord it over the rest of us. House points are awarded for (among other things) attendance at training, work at the working bee and prompt payment of subs. If you are named best player in your grade you also win extra points for your house. Yellow/red cards and other misconduct results in deductions of house points.
Green house is in the lead at the moment with 199 points, followed very closely by Gold (197) and Red (193). Blue is lagging behind with 178. Green’s lead is largely thanks to their excellent training record and the big effort Justin Elder put in at the working bee (they’d be miles ahead if it weren’t for a couple of yellow cards). Green house was also awarded 10 points last Saturday for its controversial victory of the boat race, while Gold house won 10 points for the arm wrestling thanks to the guns of Richard Czeglik and Alex
Berce.
Each house is required to organise one home game function in 2008 and will be awarded bonus points if it is done well. Green house have a chance to extend their early lead when they throw us a party after the home games on 17 May. If you are in Green House, talk to your other house members and start the ball rolling.
