![]() Judges |
Just when Hamish thought he'd forgotten all about his old company, and Collegians' solid sponsor from the distant days of Alan Turin, his corporate jackets that have long lingered downstairs, have become fashion-items and were sported on the 5th of July by both Stewart Douglas & Ben Hamer. As Hamish says, pity the company didn't last as long as the jackets. Or was that 'the company didn't last but those jackets did'?

Ben Hamer |
We had seven barrows entered. Hamish judged them for Best Pimped and the winner went into the final race. The other six teams had to race in heats with the best eventually meeting the Best Pimped in the final.
Teams entered were:
Team Tonka
Gypsy Barrow
Team Redneck
Smurfy Barrow
Blood Barrow
English Barrow
Yellow Brick Barrow
Yellow Brick Barrow won the Best Pimped.
Smurfs won the first race (Smurfs v Rednecks v Gypsies). The Rednecks who missed a chicane had to double-back to finish the course but nevertheless beat the Gypsy Barrow which was pink and comfortable but slow and squeaky.
Blood Barrow won the second race (Blood v Tonka v English). It was close between Blood and Tonka, but the English Barrow broke. Welsh workmanship was blamed.
The Smurfs narrowly beat Blood Barrow in the Semi, and trounced the Yellow Brick Barrow in the final (thank partly to the YBB toppling over at one point in the course).
